MUMBAI, India, Aug. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511011049 A) filed by Chairman, Defence Research & Development on February 10, 2025, for 99mtc-Mdm-Based Radiopharmaceutical Cold-Kit Composition In Cancer Prognosis And Radiodiagnostics.
Inventors include Hazari, Puja Panwar; and Mishra, Anil K.
The application for the patent was published on August 21, 2026, under issue no. 34/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of a radiopharmaceutical cold-kit composition based on 6, 9, 12-tris(carboxymethyl)-2, 16-bis(2-(methylthio)ethyl)-4, 14- dioxo-3, 6, 9, 12, 15-pentaazaheptadecanedioic acid (DTPA-bis(Met); MDM), stannous chloride anhydrous, acetic acid, sodium ascorbate and sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) and radionuclides, for example Technetium-99m for the efficient and reliable preparation of radiopharmaceuticals. The present invention discloses a standardized and convenient method for labelling with SPECT-radionuclides by the DTPA-bis(Met) based MDM cold kit, allowing the creation of radiopharmaceutical with increased targeting, stability, and labeling efficiency, excellent tumor targeting, and promising utility as SPECT-radiopharmaceutical for imaging methionine dependent human tumors. The invention is useful in nuclear medicine, where it supports therapeutic and diagnostic imaging, and contributes to advancements in personalized medicine and patient care. The present invention further discloses a method of preparation of radiopharmaceutical cold-kit composition in a single vial composition with high labelling efficiency and stability.
