MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641092247 A) filed by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham on July 29, 2026, for 1,2,4-Triazolium-Based Protic Ionic Liquid, Fluorescence Sensing Composition Comprising The Same, And Methods Thereof.

Inventors include Kandasamy, Elango; and Cheriyathennatt, Saranya.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a 1,2,4-triazolium-based protic ionic liquid represented by Formula (I). The present disclosure further provides a method for preparing the protic ionic liquid by protonation of 1-propyl-1,2,4-triazole using a proton donor followed by purification and drying. The present disclosure additionally provides a fluorescence sensing composition comprising a fluorescent probe, a cyclic oligosaccharide compound, the protic ionic liquid, and a solvent. The composition forms a host–guest assembly through supramolecular interactions between the fluorescent probe, cyclodextrin, and ionic liquid, resulting in enhanced fluorescence response and sensing performance. The present disclosure also provides a method for preparing the fluorescence sensing composition and equilibrating the composition prior to fluorescence measurement. The disclosed compositions are useful for fluorescence sensing, molecular recognition, analyte detection, and supramolecular chemistry applications.
