MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079437 A) filed by Tannpapier Gmbh, Traun, Austria, on Aug. 21, for 'wrapping material or packaging material.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a wrapping material or packaging material for cigarettes, heat-not-burn articles or tobacco products comprising a base paper (1) and a coating (2) with a solvent-based lacquer in the form of ethylcellulose lacquer, nitrocellulose lacquer, shellac, sealing lacquer, PDA lacquer or CDA lacquer, wherein the base paper (1) has a smoothness in the range of 100-1500 Bekk Sec and the wrapping material or packaging material comprises a further coating which is a layer of a water-based gloss lacquer (3)."
