MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641024846 A) filed by Redlands Ashlyn Motors Plc, Thrissur, Kerala, on March 2, for 'wrap feeding and cutting system for a baler.'

Inventor(s) include Perinchery Narayanankutty Pramod; and Moorkkattil Vasu Saneesh.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a wrap feeding and cutting system for a baler, including a wrap feeder 105 holding a spool of a wrap 106, a first roller 601 and a second roller 602, receiving the wrap 106 there between to convey from the wrap feeder 105 into the baling chamber 102, an indexing mechanism comprising a threaded rod 108 coupled with a roller 103 of the baling chamber 102, a blade 107 rotatably connected with the baler 101 and in mechanical communication with a lever 201, positioned onto the threaded rod 108 by operation of the lever 201, and a cutter bar 603 displaced by an operation of the lever 201 to move into cutting position to cut the wrap 106 effected by disengagement of the blade 107 from the threaded rod 108, wherein wrap length determination and cutting are achieved through bale rotation-derived mechanical indexing without electronic control."
