MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019421 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'workpiece joining assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Kul Bhushan Anand.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A workpiece joining assistive device, comprising a platform 1 attached with L-shaped plates 2 placed with two workpiece as detected by a weight sensor assembled on each plates 2, a sliding unit 3 translates plates 2 for pulling workpieces closely, a motorized lead screw 4 configured with a trapezium shaped block 5 to secure workpiece between plates 2 and block 5, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 determines dimensions of workpieces and accordingly movement of block 5 and plates 2 is regulated join workpiece at optimum angle, a corrosion sensor detects presence of corrosion on workpieces, an electronic nozzle 7 connected with a chamber 8 for dispensing an anti-corrosion solution over workpieces to eliminate detected corrosion, a laser sensor detects any irregular surface on workpieces, a robotic arm 9 configured with a motorized grinding unit 10 for grinding irregular surface."
