MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020062 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'workpiece drilling assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Vinit Vishnoi; Naveen; Shamshad Hussain; and Anil Kumar.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A workpiece drilling assistive device comprises of a body 1 configured with a pair of flaps 2 attached with each other via a motorized hinge, a laser sensor to determine thickness of the workpiece, an artificial intelligence based camera 3 for analyzing dimension of the workpiece, multiple motorized ball to move the body 1 over the workpiece as per the user's requirement, a motorized iris lid 6 to open/close according to user's command for creating a cavity within flap to allow user perform drilling of over workpiece, a tactile sensor to determine hardness of the workpiece surface and a suction unit installed to withdraw chips of the workpiece and transfer into a container 8."
