MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003707 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 18, 2024, for 'workpiece cutting assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A workpiece cutting assistive device, comprising a platform 1 positioned in proximity to a cutting blade 2, a handle 3 is attached with platform 1 for providing grip to a user while placing platform 1 adjacent to a workpiece, multiple touch sensors detecting placement of platform 1 on workpiece by means of multiple suction cups 4, a touch interactive display panel 5 enabling user to provide input regarding a portion of the workpiece for actuating a holographic projection unit 6 for projecting a holographic image for providing assistance to user while pushing workpiece towards blade 2, and an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 7 determines generation of wood dust during cutting of the workpiece for actuating a vacuum based cleaning unit 8 for cleaning the wood dust."
