MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441007848 A) filed by Jain, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 5, 2024, for 'wooden workpiece joining device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wooden workpiece joining device, comprises of a U-shaped frame 1 placed over a workpiece that are to be joined, a handle 2 attached with frame 1 for gripping the frame 1, a touch sensor for detecting placement of the frame 1, multiple motorized hinge joints 12 configured with a plate 3 for moving the plate 3 to secure plate 3 with the workpiece, user interface installed inside a computing unit accessed by a user to provide input regarding orientation of frame 1 to be manufactured, a motorized sliding unit 4 for providing movement to a pair of C-shaped member 5 to position the workpiece at user-specified orientation, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 for detecting alignment of the workpieces and a robotic link 7 configured with a motorized screwing unit 8 for engaging screws on the workpieces to join the workpieces."
