MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020078 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'wooden workpiece cutting assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wooden workpiece cutting assistive device includes an platform 1 installed with a member 2 configured with a first plate 4, a second plate 5 installed with first plate 4 and gap created between plates 4,5 accommodates a cutting blade for cutting wooden workpiece, a camera 8 mounted on plate 4 for detecting blade's thickness, a gear 6 configured on first plate 4 and attached with second plate 5 via a crank 7, gear 6 actuates to rotates for maintaining an optimum distance between plates 4,5 for appropriately accommodating blade, a screen 10 to input regarding an angle at which wooden workpiece is to be cut, a pivot joint 11 configured between first plate 4 and member 2 to tilt plates 4,5 at user-defined angle, for enabling user to cut wooden workpiece via blade, a suction unit 12 for withdrawing generated wooden dust and collect within connected chamber 13."
