MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025494 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'wooden log transportation assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Simrat Kaur; Navneet Katoch; Shivani; and Raman Thakur.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wooden log transportation assistive device, comprising a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface and installed with an L-shaped structure 2 to be positioned in contact with a wooden log, a touch enabled screen 3 installed on the housing 1 for enabling a user to give input commands for transporting said wooden log to a selected location, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 mounted on the housing 1 for detecting diameter of the wooden log, a C-shaped motorized expandable clamp 5 installed with the structure 2 to expand for gripping the wooden log in a secured manner, a pair of plates 6 installed with bottom portion of the structure 2 to lift other end of the wooden log, a pair of C-shaped members 7 installed with the housing 1 for deploying the members 7 to grip the wooden log."
