MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024837 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'wooden log processing device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Jasminal Kaur; Manisha; Shiv Pratap Singh; and Gagandeep Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wooden log processing device, comprising a housing 1 configured with an outlet 2 that is accessed by a user to position a wooden log over a first motorized conveyer 3 for translating the log upon pressing of a button, artificial intelligence-based image capturing unit 4 integrated determines dimensions of the log, telescopically operated clamping units 5 to extend/retract for clamping the log, sliders 6 to translate roller 7 and simultaneously the clamping units 5 to position the log in between the roller 7 for appropriate accommodation of the log, roller 7 to rotate in opposite directions with respect to each other leading to debarking of the log via an abrasive material, arms 8 to position log over a second motorized conveyer 10 to translate the debarked log in proximity to pneumatically operated bar 11 configured with a knife 12 to split the log into two equal halves."
