MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010158 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'wood cutting assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wood cutting assistive device, comprising a frame 1 having a plate 2 developed to be positioned over a fixed surface, a touch interactive display panel 3 accessed by user for providing input regarding dimensions into which a wooden plank is to be cut, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determining dimension of plank positioned proximity to frame 1, a holographic projector 5 project evaluated pattern in performing cutting over plank, a primary flap 6 arranged over plate 2 and a secondary flap 8 is positioned parallel to primary flap 6 by means of multiple nut and bolt fixed at corners of flaps 6, 8 to create an optimum gapping for accommodating cutting tool, and a motorized hinge actuated by microcontroller for tilting flap 6, 8, followed by extension and retraction of a rod 10 for moving wearable unit 11 for aiding user in cutting plank at projected pattern."
