MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531130161 A) filed by Narula Institute Of Technology, Kolkata, West Bengal, on Dec. 22, 2025, for 'women safety and rescue system with arduino.'
Inventor(s) include Swati Barui; Dr. Moupali Roy; Dr. Sangita Roy; and Geetika Pal.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A portable emergency rescue apparatus comprising a Central Processing Unit (CPU), a Geolocation Acquisition Module (GAM), and a Wireless Communication Module (WCM) integrated with a Tactile Activation Switch (TAS). Upon user actuation of the TAS, the CPU executes an autonomous Emergency Routine to acquire real-time geographical coordinates from the GAM. The CPU dynamically generates a Universal Resource Locator (URL) containing the coordinates and instructs the WCM to concurrently transmit the URL via a Short Message Service (SMS) and initiate a voice call to a predefined emergency contact number. The system, which also includes an Audible Annunciation Transducer (AAT) and Power Regulation Circuitry, is designed for low-cost implementation, network independence, and immediate, dual-channel location-grounded distress signaling, thereby significantly enhancing personal security and response efficacy."
