MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511117920 A) filed by Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 27, 2025, for 'wireless grid sensor network for environmental monitoring of landfills.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Amit Garg; Ms. Neha Garg; Dev Kumar; Abhinav Dwivedi; and Ayush Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A grid-based sensor network system (100) for real-time landfill monitoring is disclosed. Said system (100) comprises a monitoring platform (102) formed with multiple sensor nodes (104). Each said sensor node (104) contains node electronics (106) including a controller unit (108), a sensor interface (110) and a communication unit (112). Said controller unit (108) acquires data from sensors (118) coupled to said sensor interface (110). Said data are transmitted through said communication unit (112) to a gateway unit (114). Said gateway unit (114) forwards said data to a cloud server (116) for storage and analysis. Said system (100) enables continuous assessment of parameters such as gas concentration, temperature variation and leachate conditions across varying landfill topographies. Said system (100) further enables improved spatial coverage through distributed placement of said sensor nodes (104) and provides real-time transmission of landfill environmental information."
