MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122262 A) filed by G. Narayanamma Institute Of Technology & Science (For Women), Hyderabad, Telangana, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'wireless electric vehicle charging system with solar backup.'

Inventor(s) include Mrs. K. Priyamvada; Dr. Ponnuru Ramakrishna Reddy; Dr. Nomula Malla Reddy; Mrs. Abhinethri Boreddy; Mrs. Saggurthi Bhulakshmi; Dr. P. Rama Mohan; Mrs. Smitha Mahindrakar; Ms. T. Teja Sri; Ms. S. Vaishnavi; and Ms. B. Srivani.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a wireless electric vehicle charging system with solar backup that enables contactless and uninterrupted charging of electric vehicles. The system comprises a transmitter coil powered through an AC-to-DC adapter and motor driver to generate an alternating electromagnetic field, and a receiver coil configured to capture the wireless energy and supply it to a primary lithium-ion battery through a battery management system. A solar panel is included to generate renewable power and charge a secondary battery via a separate battery management system, providing an auxiliary energy source when wireless power is unavailable. Voltage sensors continuously monitor both batteries, and a microcontroller compares the sensed voltages with predetermined thresholds to activate relay modules for automatic source switching. An OLED display provides real-time information on battery levels, charging status, and active power source. The system enhances safety, sustainability, convenience, and reliability in electric vehicle charging."
