MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123167 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'windmill tree with 3d printed aeroleaf turbine and solar supporting system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. V. Thanigaivelan; Dr. R. Lavanya; Dr. T. Mothilal; Dr. V. Vinod Kumar; Dr. Biplap Bhattacharjee; Dr. R. Thirunavukkarasu; and Dr. M. Veeramanikandan.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The hybrid windmill tree with aero leaf turbine tackles all these problems and comes up with an effective solution that's able to work at any direction of wind flow, uses less land space and costs lesser. It consists of a rigid base from which a pole is being erected with branches extending from it that is able to hold the aero leaves. A solar panel is mounted on top of the wind tree and provide additional electrical energy converted from solar energy. The electrical energy is stored in a battery and can be used for domestic or commercial purposes."
