MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517091319 A) filed by The Japan Steel Works, Ltd., Tokyo, on Sept. 24, for 'winder and winding method.'

Inventor(s) include Maekawa Takato; and Toyotsuji Koichi.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a winder which can satisfactorily wind a film material around a second winding core when the film material is cut in order to transition the winding of the film material from a first winding core to the second winding core. A winder (1) according to the present disclosure comprises: a first support (21) that supports a first winding core (3) such that the first winding core (3) can be moved toward or away from a feed roller (41); a second support (31) that supports a second winding core (4) such that the second winding core (4) can be moved so as to contact a film material (2) between the first winding core (3) and the feed roller (41); and a pulling mechanism (51) for pulling the film material (2) to the second winding core (4) side such that the film material (2) is wound on the second winding core (4) in the rotation direction of the second winding core (4) when in a state where the second winding core (4) is in contact with the film material (2) between the first winding core (3) and the feed roller (41)."
