MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079595 A) filed by Vestas Wind Systems A/S, Aarhus, Denmark, on Aug. 22, for 'wind turbine and method for recovering material from wind turbine.'

Inventor(s) include Green, Benjamin; Sandercock, Stephen; and Williams, David.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "According to the present invention there is provided a wind turbine with a rotor blade comprising a first fibre reinforced epoxy polymer and a further component comprising a second fibre reinforced epoxy polymer. Wherein the first and second fibre reinforced epoxy polymers are configured to be disintegrated by the same acid treatment. Further is provided a method of recovering material from a wind turbine comprising a rotor blade comprising a first fibre reinforced epoxy polymer and a further component comprising a second fibre reinforced epoxy polymer. The method comprising: disintegrating the first fibre reinforced epoxy polymer of the rotor blade by acid treatment; recovering first material from the disintegrated first fibre reinforced epoxy polymer; disintegrating the second fibre reinforced epoxy polymer of the further component by acid treatment; and recovering second material from the disintegrated second fibre reinforced epoxy polymer."

The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 31, 2024, under International application No.PCT/DK2024/050021.
