MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105675 A) filed by Chitkara University; and Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation, Rajpura, Punjab, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'wind energy harvesting system for vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Tanmay Bhardwaj; Dr. Vishal Jagota; and Dr. Jyoti.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wind energy harvesting system for vehicles, comprises of an air intake tube 101 configured with a funnel shaped inlet to capture and accelerate relative wind flow generated by vehicle motion without substantially increasing drag, a door assembly 102 for directing airflow to subsequent paths, a micro wind turbine 104 disposed within a sealed housing 103 and coupled to the air intake tube 101 via a main conduit 105 aligned with the door assembly 102 having a first motorized door that opens to direct high-speed airflow to the turbine and convert kinetic energy into mechanical energy, a display to display the feedback from sensor suite, a windshield cleaning unit for cleaning any water droplets on the windshield, a ventilation duct 108 connected with the air intake tube 101 for delivering a portion of the captured airflow into a vehicle cabin for ventilation or cooling."
