MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019782 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'wheelchair loading/unloading device for vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Jayanand; Rishabh Chitranshi; Raj Kishore Singh; and Anshu Chaudhary.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wheelchair loading/unloading device for vehicles, comprising a body 1 configured with multiple suction cups 2 to establish a grip in between body 1 and top portion of vehicle, a push button 3 is installed over body 1 for deploying body 1 as means of loading/unloading wheelchair, a motorized geared hinge joint 4 interlinked in between body 1 and vehicle to rotate for sliding body 1, multiple electromagnetically powered plates 5 installed within body 1 via multiple motorized hinges 6 to provide an angular movement to plates 5 with respect to each other, a pair of telescopically operated rods 7 to extend/retract for extending plates 5, an artificial intelligence based camera 8 mounted over body 1 for detecting position of wheelchair, a rust detection sensor to determine presence of rust over wheelchair and a chamber 10 via nozzle 11 attached within body 1 for eliminating rust from wheelchair."
