MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611001649 A) filed by Nims University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Jan. 7, for 'weather protection system and mehtods for two- wheeler vehicles.'

Inventor(s) include Jitendra Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a weather protection system (100) for two-wheeler vehicles comprising a deployable protective enclosure (110) configured to shield riders and passengers from adverse weather conditions. The system includes a deployment mechanism (120) operably connected to the enclosure (110) for transitioning between stowed and deployed positions upon activation by an actuator (130). The supporting framework (140) provides structural stability, wherein the enclosure (110) is at least partially transparent and fabricated from a flexible high-tensile thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material. The deployment mechanism (120) may be motorized or spring-loaded. An intelligent sensor system (150) autonomously deploys the enclosure (110) upon detecting precipitation below a predetermined speed, while integrated lighting system (160) enhances visibility. Safety interlocks (170) prevent deployment above safe speeds. A quick-release mechanism (180) facilitates manual retraction and maintenance access. The system enhances rider protection efficiently, combining rapid deployment with user-friendly controls and aerodynamic stability."
