MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026073 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'wearable walking assistive device for snowy surfaces.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable walking assistive device for snowy surfaces, comprising a body 1 integrated with a pair of elastic straps 2 that is accessed by a user for engaging body 1 underneath sole of user's shoes, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determines dimensions of sole, a friction sensor determines friction of ground surface over which user is walking, a chamber 4 integrated with an electronically controlled valve 5 to dispense store, plurality of extendable spikes 6 extends for providing evaluated traction by shoes on surface for aiding user to walk effortlessly on surface, a tactile sensor determines hardness of snow, a conveyer belt 8 translates plurality of telescopically operated pins 9 for excavating snow on surface to provide ease for user to uplift user's shoes."
