MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411022354 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 22, 2024, for 'wearable walking assistive device for heel footwear.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable walking assistive device for heel footwear, comprising a rectangular body 1 constructed with plurality of plates 2, suction cup configured on first portion of body 1 for securing body 1 with sole portion of a user's feet, a curved-shaped member 3 is configured with the body 1 via an telescopically operated link 4 to be positioned in contact with heel portion of user's foot to prevent shoe bite, plurality of hinges 5 configured between the plates 2 for tilting the plates 2 towards/away from each other, an angle sensor positioned on the body 1 for detecting inclination angle of the body 1 with respect to the footwear while the user is walking, plurality of pneumatic pins 6 installed at a second portion of the body 1 for maintaining an optimum inclination angle of the user's foot, thus prevent the user's foot from twisting."
