MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005543 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 27, 2024, for 'wearable utensil handling device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable utensil handling device encompasses a pair of frames 1 to be equipped on forearm portion of users as a pair of plate 2 on frame provides a suitable grip for user in holding the frame 1, an imaging unit 3 detects utensil positioning, a holographic projector on frame guides user in positioning of frame 1, ultrasonic sensors on each frame 1 gauges distance of utensil from frame 1, enabling microcontroller to confirm correct alignment, a pair of telescopic plates 5 extend into mouth portion of utensil, while telescopic flaps support utensil accommodation, a microphone 7 accepts voice commands for pouring food, a pair of hinge joints tilt the utensil for pouring food item stored within utensil, telescopic clippers 8 deploy a meshed sheet 9 for sieving, gyroscope sensors detect user imbalance, and curved members 10 cover the forearm to prevent burns."
