MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084468 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'wearable travelling assistive device for visually impaired.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable travelling assistive device for visually impaired comprises of a body 1 utilize to accommodate over wrist portion of a visually impaired user while travelling via a public transport vehicle, a strap 2 is equipped with the body 1 for securing the body 1 over the user's wrist portion, a laser sensor 3 mapped on the strap 2 for detecting dimensions of the user's wrist portion, a microphone 5 mapped on the body 1 to give voice commands regarding the public transport vehicle boarded by the user, a GPS (Global Positioning System) module 7 positioned on the body 1 for detecting real-time location coordinates of the user, multiple pneumatic pins 6 configured on the body 1 to extend/retract to form a braille pattern, and a vibrating unit configured on the body 1 for generating vibrational sensations to notify the user to de-board the vehicle."
