MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133110 A) filed by Amity University, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Dec. 29, 2025, for 'wearable smart respiratory health monitoring system with biomarker-guided ventilation control.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Praveen Kumar Maduri; Kushagra Singh; Rishav Kumar; and Ashutosh Kumar Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a wearable smart respiratory health monitoring system with biomarker guided ventilation control, comprises of adaptive respiratory mask body 150 including a shape-memory polymer cushion 100 configured to conform to a wearer's facial contours at body temperature, integrated with sensors 110 for monitoring mask body 150 seal quality. A microfluidic breath condensate collection module 130 is fluidically coupled to the mask body 150 and configured to condense exhaled breath and concentrate respiratory biomarkers for analysis. An electrochemical sensor array 140 detects volatile organic compound biomarkers associated with respiratory infections. The system further includes environmental and physiological sensors, a microphone 120 for cough detection and pathology classification, and a processing unit executing machine-learning-based protocol to compute biomarker confidence scores and composite infection risk levels."
