MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105008 A) filed by Chitkara University; and Chitkara Innovation Incubator Foundation, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'wearable safety system for chemotherapy drug exposure.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable safety system for chemotherapy drug exposure, comprising a headgear 101 designed to be worn by healthcare personnel, featuring a transparent visor 102 ensure clear visibility of the workspace, an electrochemical sensor 103 continuously monitors traces of hazardous substances in the surrounding environment, a chamber 104 for storing a protective garment 105, which is equipped with a spring-loaded release unit 106 to enable rapid deployment upon detection of chemical exposure, a occipital straps 107 attached to the lower portion of the headgear 101 incorporate miniature motors that automatically adjust tightness based on detected exposure levels, a fastening belt 108 secures the headgear 101 firmly on the wearer's head to ensure stability and safety, a circular openings on opposite sides of the headgear 101 include a HEPA filter 110 to capture airborne contaminants and a motorized fan 111 to maintain airflow, ensuring a sealed and filtered breathing environment throughout use."
