MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511103630 A) filed by Upes, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Oct. 28, 2025, for 'wearable health device with pneumatic plugs for automated pranayama and breathing exercises.'
Inventor(s) include Akashdeep Bhardwaj; Raavi Bhardwaj; and Archana Bhardwaj.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable health device (100) with pneumatic plugs for automated pranayama and breathing exercises is disclosed. The device (100) comprises an adjustable head strap (102) configured to mount a control module (104) housing a microcontroller unit (MCU), a Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) low energy chip, micro-diaphragm pumps, 3-way solenoid valves, MEMS airflow sensors, a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery, a vibration motor, and a LED indicator. Flexible tubing (106) coupled to mushroom-shaped nostril plugs (108) made of inflatable, hypoallergenic silicone for alternate nostril occlusion. The MCU regulates pumps, valves, and sensors for precise inflation, seal verification, and adaptive feedback, while enabling wireless connectivity and power management. A method of operation (302-314) includes session initiation (302), configuration of timing (304), sequential occlusion (306, 308), real-time monitoring (310), data tracking (312), and automated standby (314), thereby providing a safe, hands-free system for structured pranayama practice."
