MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517046465 A) filed by Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., Gyeonggi, Republic of Korea, on May 14, for 'wearable electronic device including camera and operation method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Uhm, Junwhon; Jeon, Jina; Kim, Chulkwi; and Youn, Yeotak.

The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable electronic device may comprise a first camera, a second camera including an image processing circuit, a memory, and at least one processor, wherein the memory stores at least one instruction causing, when executed by the at least one processor, the wearable electronic device to: while the wearable electronic device is worn by a user, identify a gaze area of the user via the first camera; acquire an image of a first resolution by photographing an external object via the second camera; determine, in the image, a first area corresponding to the gaze area of the user and a second area corresponding to an area other than the gaze area; acquire a first image corresponding to the first area from the image through a first channel among a plurality of channels between the processor and the second camera, the first image having the first resolution; and acquire a second image corresponding to the second area through a second channel among the plurality of channels, the second image having a second resolution lower than the first resolution. Various other embodiments are possible."

The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 30, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/017041.
