MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026082 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'wearable carom playing assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wearable carom playing assistive device, comprising a wearable component 1 developed to be worn by a user on the user's wrist, a touch interactive display panel 2 accessed by a user for providing input regarding the user's details in view of generating a user's profile which is stored in a database linked with an inbuilt microcontroller associated with the device, flexible tubular structure 3 worn by the user on the user's playing finger which is positioned by the user in proximity to a base line of a carom board, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 for capturing multiple images in vicinity of the structure 3 to determine alignment of different colored pieces and net holes on the board and a counter for monitoring number of strikes achieved/lost by the user and other players to maintain a record of game."
