MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026963 A) filed by Roschcrete Technologies Private Limited, Jalandhar, Punjab, on April 1, 2024, for 'waterproof concrete kerbstone with solar powered lighting system and manufacturing process thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Mr. Karan Chawla.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a waterproof concrete kerbstone with a lighting system and manufacturing process thereof. The present invention comprises concrete kerbstone 2, waterproof light-transmitting sheet, LED strip 3, mini solar panel, battery, LED driver, and sensor. The solar panels are affixed on the upper surface of the kerbstone 2 to charge the battery, and the battery supplies the power to the LED strip 3 and a dedicated channel along the vertical faces of the kerbstone, dimensioned to accommodate a 6mm thick acrylic diffuser sheet. The smart LED driver circuit controls light blinking and charging. The present invention comprises a sensor to sense daylight to activate or deactivate the LED strip and solar panel. LED lights 3 are switched on in the evening automatically with the help of the sensor 1. The mini solar panels make the present invention sustainable because they are used to charge a 6V, 180MaH battery, and said battery provides power to a 0.2Watt smart LED strip 3. The kerbstones 2 are durable as the present invention provides more than 25MPa strength with less than 7% of water absorption. The aforementioned kerbstones 2 are easily replaceable and removable."
