MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105655 A) filed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 31, 2025, for 'watercraft docking device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Pramod Kumar Faujdar.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A watercraft docking device comprising a multi-hinged extendable body 101 having a first and second portion, developed to engaged with a watercraft 102, a motorized winch 103 rolled with a flexible rope 104 being manually secured with the watercraft 102, an imaging unit 105 to determine presence of a cleat pre-installed over shore of water body 101 for securing the watercraft 102 with the fixed cleat, an ultrasonic sensor for monitoring distance of the watercraft 102 with respect to the cleat, a velocity sensor for monitoring velocity of the watercraft 102, a tension sensor to detect tension generated within the rope 104, a proximity sensor to monitor the docking zone to detect nearby obstacles."
