MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531019186 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on March 4, for 'water removal device for golf cup.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A water removal device for golf cup, comprising a platform 101 positioned on a golf course, a computing unit wirelessly associated with device receives user input commands for removing water from cup, an imaging unit 103 mounted on platform 101 detect exact location of cup, multiple motorized omnidirectional wheels 102 installed beneath platform 101 positioning the platform 101 over cup, a cylindrical hollow member 104 installed with platform 101 via a crank-lever arrangement 105 to translate and insert the member 104 in cup, a motorized iris lid 106 configured at base portion of member 104 allow transfer of water from cup to member 104, a suction unit 107 installed with member 104 to withdraw water from the member 104 and transfer into a chamber 108 mounted on platform 101, and a level sensor embedded within the chamber 108 detects level of water collected within the chamber 108."
