MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611001453 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Jan. 6, for 'water purification and energy-harvesting system.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shobhit Maheshwari.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A water purification and energy-harvesting system, comprises of a housing 101 configured for deployment in a water body, an inlet having an iris hole 103 for receiving water and an outlet having a first mortised valve 116 for controlled discharge, a channel 102 directing water flow into the housing 101, a mesh filter 104 for separating non-grindable solid waste, an extendable rod 107 configured with a wiping plate 108 via a ball-and-socket joint 109 to remove accumulated solid waste, a water turbine 113 for converting kinetic energy of the flowing water into electrical energy, a purification unit for removal of charged contaminants and microorganisms, a clarification unit for settling suspended solids, a membrane filtration unit for removal of dissolved contaminants, a mineral-balancing unit to adjust water composition, a recirculation conduit 133 for redirecting water not meeting quality thresholds, and a clean-water storage compartment 134 for storing fully treated water."
