MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521118933 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Nov. 28, 2025, for 'water-immersed device for storing and cooling storage modules.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A water-immersed device for storing and cooling storage modules, comprising a cylindrical housing 101, multiple ballast chambers 102 to control buoyancy and depth, each chamber 102 regulate the air-water ratio for enabling stabilization the housing 101 in a water body, a waterproof camera 103 detects presence of a user in proximity to the housing 101, a hinged access door 104 to open automatically upon detection of a user presence and facilitate to place data storage modules within individual casings 105, a platform 106 to securely hold a data storage module, a filtration assembly 107 to filter water entering the housing 101 to enable clean water circulation for cooling and thermal regulation, and a thermoelectric cooling unit 108 to actively lowers the temperature of water circulating through the conduits 109 to maintain a predetermined thermal range within each casing 105, multiple coolant conduits 109 to precisely regulate water flow."
