MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088286 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'wastewater recirculation-enabled train cleaning system.'
Inventor(s) include Shivam Pandey; Kavita; Aman Kaushik; Nitika; Kangan Arora; and Shweta.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wastewater recirculation-enabled train cleaning system, comprises of an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 1 installed on a locomotive 2 for detecting entrance of locomotive 2 inside a monorail tunnel 6, multiple dust sensors 3 for detecting intensity of dust/dirt accumulated on the locomotive 2, multiple electronically controlled nozzles 4 connected with locomotive's 2 air conditioning unit for dispensing wastewater at top-open duct 5 which are collected within a water collection tank 7, an electronically controlled valve for dispensing biodegradable cleaning agent solution into the tank 7 for treating the water, multiple electronically controlled sprinklers 8 for dispensing water on the surface of locomotive 2 for cleaning the locomotive 2 and a piezoelectric unit installed on monorails for harnessing electrical energy."
