MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611025350 A) filed by Rayat Bahra University; Bahra University; and Rayat Bahra Professional University, Greater Mohali, Punjab, on March 3, for 'wastewater filtration system.'

Inventor(s) include Manjot Singh; Reena Sharma; Rita Sharma; Manoj Bali; Monika Pandit; Raibarinder Singh; and Simranjit Kaur.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wastewater filtration system, comprises of a housing 101 partitioned into a plurality of filtration compartments including a greywater compartment 102, a wastewater compartment 103, and a stormwater compartment 104, a main inlet 105 fluidly to continuously analyze incoming wastewater quality, a plurality of motorized valves 106, each motorized valve 106 is selectively actuated to direct wastewater into a corresponding compartment, a control unit coupled with the inspection unit and motorized valves 106, configured to classify incoming wastewater into highly soapy water, less soapy water, or relatively clean water, a multi-stage filtration assembly, comprising a plurality of filters configured to remove physical, chemical, and biological contaminants from the wastewater, a storage tank 107 to store the filtered water and a recirculation conduit 108 to redirect stored water back to the filtration compartments."
