MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025512 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'waste collection assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Amresh Kumar; Dr. Dinesh Arora; Satwinder Singh; Prabhdeep Singh; Simranjot Singh; Devesh; Akash Chaudhary; and Sankrt Chabra.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A waste collection assistive device comprising a circular plate 1 crafted with a handle that is gripped by a user to position plate 1 in proximity to a bag in which waste is to be collected, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 2 installed over plate 1 to determines location of mouth portion of the bag, an motorized slid able lid 3 crafted over the plate 1 to open and create a passage to enable user to insert waste within bag, an extendable robotic clamp 4 installed over plate 1 to extend and grip waste a hollowed telescopic conduit 5 to extend and position over waste, a suction unit connected with conduit 5 to create a negative pressure to withdraw waste from ground surface and collect in the bag."
