MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133602 A) filed by Raincatchers, Hasaan, Karnataka, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'waste collecting apparatus with segmented concrete ring.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a waste collecting apparatus (12) having an outer segmented concrete ring (20) with interconnecting blocks (22). Each block has a curved portion (24), extension section (26), and groove (28). Extension sections insert into adjacent grooves forming a circular ring structure defining a hollow structure (30). A removable container (32) within the hollow structure collects waste materials (16). A cover frame (40) is positioned above the ring. A lid assembly (50) is hingedly connected to the cover frame via hinge member (52). The lid assembly includes a plate (55), a lid (60) hingedly connected to the plate via lid hinge (61) configured to pivot between closed and open positions creating opening (64), a counter weight member (62) attached to the lid configured to automatically return the lid to closed position, and a U-channel (66) underneath the plate aligned with the opening."
