MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611051962 A) filed by Vivekananda Institute Of Professional Studies - Technical Campus, New Delhi, on April 23, for 'waste classification and collection device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A waste classification and collection device, comprising a plurality of bots 101 for traversing landfill surfaces, a plurality of motorized wheels 102 for controlled movement over uneven waste terrain, an inspection unit 103 for waste characterization using a multispectral camera for plastic-type identification, a conveyor belt 104 for lifting and transporting collected waste, a pair of six axis robotic arms 105 with claws 106 for picking and placing waste, water sprinkling nozzles 107 for debris cleaning, a gantry arrangement 108 with a trimmer unit 109 for tearing wraps and films, a linear sliding rail 110 with a lead screw ram 111 for pushing segregated waste into storage chambers 118, an electronically controlled sprayer 112 for neutralizing corrosive waste, a suction fan 113 with duct 114 and a neutralization compartment 115 for hazardous-gas capture and treatment, and an augmented reality holographic projector unit 116 for projecting hazard zones and safety guidance."
