MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421008077 A) filed by Welspun Living Limited, Maharashtra, on Feb. 6, 2024, for 'wash durable anti-pathogenic textile articles.'
Inventor(s) include Dipali Goenka; Animesh Laha; Satyapriya Dash; Rajender Sharma; Subrata Palit; and Vaibhav Dalvi.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An embodiment of the present disclosure is an anti-pathogenic textile article with wash-durable metal nanoparticles, such as copper nanoparticles, incorporated therein. The textiles described herein can vary between woven fabrics, terry fabrics (woven or knitted), or knitted fabrics. However, woven and terry fabrics are described below and further illustrated as exemplary structures. Such fabrics are suitable for home textile applications where wash durability is an important factor. Accordingly, the textile articles as described herein can be formed into one or more different bedding articles, such as a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, a pillowcase, a sham, a comforter, a duvet, a bed-skirt, coverlet and/or a blanket. The textile articles can be formed into one or more different bath articles, such as a towels, hand towels, wash clothes, bath matts, bath robes, bath rugs and the like."
