MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017908 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'walking assistive device for disabled pets.'

Inventor(s) include Pankaj Kumar Goswami.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A walking assistive device for disabled pets, comprises of a cylindrical shaped frame 1 with multiple telescopic rods 2 that fits over a affected limb of a disabled pet, secured with straps 4, the frame 1 incorporates an ultrasonic sensor for measuring the pet's other limb size, allowing the microcontroller to adjust the rods 2 for stability, an AI imaging unit 5 on the frame 1 analyses gaiting of the pet with microcontroller actuating multiple motorized pin joints 6 that are coupled between the rods 2 for enabling natural movement of the pet, an accelerometer and motion sensor track speed and acceleration of the pet and if these values exceed a limit, the microcontroller restricts rod movement to slowdown the pet."
