MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541123260 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 6, 2025, for 'voice-controlled web application for visually impaired assistance.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a voice-controlled web application system for visually impaired assistance. The system includes a web-based user interface operating within standard web browsers to receive voice commands and provide auditory feedback, an object recognition module implementing machine learning to identify objects in real-time from camera input, a voice processing system converting voice commands into system instructions and responses into speech output using text-to-speech synthesis, camera input capability for capturing visual data from the user's environment, and real-time processing coordinating data flow between components with processing latency under 500 milliseconds. The system enables visually impaired users to interact with their environment through voice commands while receiving immediate auditory feedback about detected objects and spatial information."
