MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003497 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research, New Delhi, on Jan. 12, 2024, for 'vital health parameters non-contact monitoring automatic device, system and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Devshree Kumar; Roshan Antony; Pudi Venkata Satyanarayana Murthy; Madan Kumar Lakshmanan; Sanjay Singh; Ranjan Jha; Naga Vara Aparna Akula; Sanjeev Kumar; and Varun Dhiman.

The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vital health parameters non-contact monitoring automatic device, system and method comprises a Vertical traverse system (11), a control system (20). The device measures the temperature of the person's face using an infrared thermometer and passive thermal imaging. Eventually centre forehead extracted from RGB image is registered onto thermal image for precise forehead temperature. Respiration and heart rate are computed using Doppler radar signals and RGB images respectively. A linear actuator within the device is controlled automatically to adjust the position of the sensors to the person's height so that synchronously all health parameters are computed. The developed device is a wall-mounted portable system. Thus, the device is capable of measuring vital signs in a non-contact and non-invasive manner as a possible indicator for assessing a person's health for screening for diseases."
