Inventor(s) include Sweta Kumari; Dr. Neeraj Bansal; Dr. Sumit Bhateja; Sia Gupta; and Tanishka Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A visual depth indicating needle (100) is disclosed. The needle (100) comprises a needle body (102) with a distal tip (104a) for an endodontic penetration and a proximal end (104b) for attachment to a syringe (200). The needle (100) further comprises a plurality of externally applied, biocompatible, and sterilizable color bands (106) positioned laterally along the needle body (102) at predetermined intervals. The color bands (106) are adapted to gauge an insertion depth of the needle body (102) into an endodontic site. The needle (100) provides instant visual confirmation of the insertion depth of the needle (100) to eliminate a reliance on guesswork or manual measurement during procedures."
