MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611007140 A) filed by Batx Energies Private Limited, Gurugram, Haryana, on Jan. 24, for 'vertical column-based solvent extraction system and method for recovery of metals from aqueous leach solutions.'
Inventor(s) include Vikrant Singh.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vertical column-based solvent extraction system (102) for recovery of metals from aqueous leach solutions is disclosed. The system (102) comprises a feed preparation tank (104) configured to adjust the pH of the aqueous leach solution containing at least one metal, and a feed pump (106) operatively connected to the feed preparation tank (104) for delivering the solution to at least one vertical extraction column (108). The at least one vertical extraction column (108) includes a mixing zone (110) with static helical mixers (112) for promoting contact between the organic and aqueous phases, a coalescence zone (114) with coalescing pads (116) for merging dispersed phase droplets, and a phase disengagement zone (118) for gravity-assisted separation of the phases. The at least one vertical extraction column (108) includes a first phase inlet for the organic phase and a second phase inlet for the aqueous leach solution to enable counter-current axial flow."
