MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511104183 A) filed by Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, on Oct. 29, 2025, for 'vehicle traffic light detection and driver alert system.'

Inventor(s) include Akash Gupta; Alif Md Khairul Arshi; and Sumit Kanchan.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses a vehicle traffic light detection and driver alert system (100) comprising a rechargeable battery (102), a buck converter (104), an ESP32-CAM module (106), a relay module (108), a buzzer (110), and a traffic sign indicator (112). The ESP32-CAM (106) captures and processes images of the roadway to detect the color state of a traffic signal. Upon detecting a yellow signal, the ESP32-CAM (106) generates a control signal to activate the relay (108), which powers the buzzer (110) and traffic sign indicator (112), alerting the driver through audible and visual means. The system enhances safety by reducing signal violation due to driver distraction."
