MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311084451 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 11, 2023, for 'vehicle towing assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Pradeep Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on June 20, under issue no. 25/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vehicle towing assistive device includes a body 1 configured with multiple rods 2 that provides support over ground, two wheels 3 are arranged on rods 2 for maneuvering body 1, an imaging unit 4 to determine distance between a towing vehicle and a breakdown vehicle and synchronously wheels 3 for positions body 1 between vehicles, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting distance between vehicle's rear portion and body 1 and accordingly two bars 5 extends to position two attached suction cups 6 underneath rear portion for affixing with rear portion to connect rear portions of vehicles thereby allowing towing vehicle to pull breakdown vehicle, an fiber optic jerk sensor 7 mapped for detecting any jerk experienced by body 1 during towing, in case detection of jerk, an alert notification is send on a computing unit accessed by towing vehicle's driver."
