MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631015916 A) filed by Jis College Of Engineering; and Aicte Idea Lab, Jis College Of Engineering, Kalyani, West Bengal, on Feb. 12, for 'vehicle monitoring system.'
Inventor(s) include Basudeb Dey; Dr. Alok Kumar Shrivastav; Atanu Joardar; Akash Majumder; and Abhijit Saha.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vehicle monitoring system is disclosed comprising an ATmega328P microcontroller, a GPS receiver, and a GSM transceiver configured for real-time geospatial telemetry. The system continuously monitors vehicle coordinates and provides status updates to a remote user upon the receipt of an authenticated SMS command. An integrated sensor array enables the automatic detection of traffic accidents via vibration sensing, triggering the autonomous transmission of location data to emergency services. The hardware features a switchable UART/DLINE interface to prevent pin conflicts between communication modules, and the software is optimized for low-latency coordinate processing using the Tiny GPS library. The system provides a flexible and reliable solution for anti-theft monitoring and fleet management."
