MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514086664 A) filed by Toyoda Gosei Co. Ltd., Aichi, Japan, on Sept. 12, 2025, for 'vehicle light transmission panel.'

Inventor(s) include Masaki Okada; Takayasu Ido; Kazuki Takao; Masaki Senda; Yasuhisa Kumamoto; Koji Okumura; Yuhki Kuramitsu; Hiroko Shibakawa; and Keisuke Higuchi.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A vehicle light transmission panel to be disposed outward of a light source, constitute a part of a design surface of a vehicle, and transmit visible light emitted from the light source through a plurality of holes formed at the vehicle light transmission panel by laser processing, includes: a base material containing a resin having visible light transmittance; and a decorative layer disposed closer to the design surface than the base material, the plurality of holes penetrate the decorative layer in a thickness direction of the decorative layer, and between the base material and the decorative layer in the thickness direction, a protective layer, that has visible light transmittance and is configured to protect the base material from laser light, is provided."
